At the recently concluded IOTE 2025, Mr. Henry Zhang, Founder, Chairman& CEO of TGT Technology delivered a keynote speech titled “New Global Paradigm for the AI-Powered Industries” at the invitation of the WAIA Alliance, sharing our insights on future development. In my view, three keywords will shape the future through innovation: Communications, AI, and Globalization. These three trends will define the next decade.
1、communications industry
The first mega trend is the move from physical SIM cards to virtual eSIM cards. In 2022, Apple launched the iPhone 14 without SIM card slots. That was a landmark change.
The second trend is even bigger: the leap from 5G to 6G. This isn’t just about speed, it’s more about moving from terrestrial communications to a hydrogenous network which is comprehensive integration of all kinds of wireless technologies, including 4G, 5G, Satellite communications.
So, in short: the future of communications is about a hybrid network architecture of multiple communications technologies and capabilities, together with a unified and AI enabled platform to operate such hybrid networks as a smart orchestrator .
2、AI
Now let’s move on to the second critical perspective: AI.
We got two key insights here. The first one is that AI is no longer just an add-on. AI is a key part of communications fabric, even play a more and more central role along the road to 6G. AI brings kind of revolutionary power into end-to-end networks, no matter 4G/5G, PSTN/Gateways, etc.
The second insight is about value proposition for IOT business. In the past, investors wanted AI to cut costs and improve efficiency for enterprise behaviors. Today, they want AI to create business values for customers directly, want AI to make money for customers. This means companies can’t just “add some AI” on top. They need to weave AI into their products and workflows in ways that deliver tangible results.
So, I must say: deep convergence of AI and communications will unlock real business innovation.
3、Globalization
Now let’s talk about globalization.
On a bigger picture, we see a lot of innovations among communications and AI areas, also there are dramatic shifts for globalization.
The first shift is from global collaboration to regional and localized strategies. Geopolitical realities have changed the order of whole world. The “one world, one market” model is no longer valid. Today, companies must go locally, bravely adapting to different cultural, political, and market realities.
The second shift is data compliance. Data compliance has gone from being “recommended” to being strictly enforced.
So, to wrap up, the globalization message is very clear: go global but succeed locally—and build strong local compliance capabilities.
